Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that
everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always
creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic
techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Reiki Treatments
Reiki treatments provide an opportunity for
you to totally relax and rebalance, in a safe and caring environment. In addition, Reiki helps the body to
reach an inner state of harmony on all levels, physically, mentally and spiritually. As well as helping many
physical ailments, it can also promote the changing of any negative mental habits, turning these into more
positive and productive thought patterns. Reiki energy is gentle to receive, yet a powerful form of healing
and the benefits can be felt immediately on all levels.
Reiki has grown in popularity over the last
few years and is practiced by many holistic practitioners. It has become widely recognised by conventional
doctors and consultants, resulting in some hospitals allowing Reiki practitioners to work alongside doctors
to help their patients.
Who are Reiki Treatments suitable for?
As a natural healing system, Reiki treatments
are suitable for everyone, from young babies through to adults as it a safe, non-invasive treatment. It can
be used alongside other complementary therapies or conventional medicine. Reiki can be administered on a
treatment couch or sitting in a chair, therefore making it an easy treatment to receive. Treatments are
fantastic for people who just want to de-stress or for those who may be suffering from an illness or injury.
Reiki can be used as a preventative treatment, helping to keep your body, mind and emotions in balance.
There are very few contra-indications (current medical conditions) to receiving a Reiki treatment. However,
as a professional practitioner, I will always take a brief medical history from you before treatment begins
and if there are any concerns, I will discuss them with you at this point.
If you have a medical problem, please discuss
this with me during the initial contact. I am more than happy to work alongside your doctor or consultant,
respecting any medical regime you may currently be following. Reiki complements both traditional medical
practice and other complementary therapies, however serious the condition may be.
There are no guarantees of being able to cure
you completely using Reiki, although there are countless cases where this has occurred. Whatever you may
wish to have treatment for, Reiki will definitely help in some way, on so many levels. Once improvements
have been noticed, it may also be time to look at ways of helping yourself to remain in this improved state
e.g. Changing old negative ways of thinking, improving ways of dealing with stress, improving your diet,
getting more exercise and so on.
Will a Reiki Practitioner be able to diagnose what is wrong with
me?
Reiki practitioners are not trained to
diagnose any condition and should not offer a diagnosis. After taking a brief medical history from you,
before treatment commences, I may suggest you visit your GP for a check up. They are the only people
qualified to make a diagnosis.
What are the benefits of Reiki Treatments?

What might I feel or experience during a Reiki Treatment?
Each person experiences Reiki differently,
although all agree it provides a wonderful feeling of relaxation, balance and wellbeing. Most people feel
warmth coming from the practitioner’s hands over certain areas of their body, although on some occasions,
the energy may also feel cold. Other people feel no sensation at all and that’s OK too. Reiki energy will
work whether someone has a sensation or not. Whilst receiving the treatment, emotions may be gently
released, as the energy clears any blockages that may have been present. Memories from past experiences may
also surface which need healing and very gently this healing occurs. Reiki healing calms the mind and
provides clarity of thought so another experience many people have is that answers to a problem they are
currently facing, suddenly come to light, therefore making the situation easier to deal with. Whatever
happens during your treatment, it will always be a gentle and rejuvenating experience.
The answer is to take the opportunity to lie
back and totally relax in a safe and caring environment and ENJOY!
How long does a Reiki Treatment last?
Your first visit will usually take 1 1/2
hours, which includes an initial interview to assess how best to treat you, lifestyle questions, any current
medications being taken and a medical history. Generally, subsequent treatments take an hour to carry
out.
What might I feel after a Reiki Treatment?
The majority of people feel very relaxed
after a Reiki treatment, with the addition of feeling more in balance. Most say that overall, they have a
general feeling of wellbeing and calm. Most people remain relaxed after their treatment for several hours,
although others may feel absolutely full of renewed energy. The benefits of a Reiki treatment are numerous
and are always positive. On some occasions, a healing reaction may occur, perhaps taking on the form of a
cold or tiredness or an emotional release. This is the body’s way of releasing toxins and unwanted stale
energy and the symptoms will be short-lived. These reactions are not serious and I am more than happy for
you to contact me so that I can reassure you. Your mind, body and spirit will always get the healing they
need with Reiki energy and it can only be positive for you.
Are there any side effects from a Reiki Treatment?
The biggest side effect of receiving a Reiki
Treatment is to feel totally relaxed and balanced. As stated above, a few people may experience a healing
reaction and this is not at all serious. To summarise then, there are only positive side effects from a
Reiki Treatment.
How many treatments might I need?
There are no hard and fast answers to this
one. Everyone heals at the right time for them and therefore it varies enormously from person to person. As
a general rule, chronic long term problems do take longer to heal, although in some instances, recovery can
be very quick. Ultimately, it is up to you how many treatments you would like to receive, although I am
happy to advise you when we meet. Lots of people have a few treatments to begin with and then visit
periodically to maintain a feeling of balance within the body.
